Alumni Association of Assam Engineering Institute


The Alumni Association of Assam Engineering Institute was formed during the Golden Jubilee Year in 1998. The Committee was constituted with the following members:

The Committee was actively associated with the various fields of works during the Golden Jubilee year and some of the remarkable resolutions adopted were –

1. To establish an Alumni Office building inside the AEI Campus.
2. To publish an annual Journal every year.
3. To hold Seminar/Workshops from time to time.
4. To make a Co-ordination Committee along with the other Alumni Association of Polytechnics.
5. To arrange for collection of contributions from the members (ex-students) working in different fields, for the welfare and development of the Assam Engineering Institute, Guwahati.
6. To up-grade Assam Engineering Institute, Guwahati from a Diploma level Institution to degree level standard.

It is to be mentioned here that the number of members registered their names were 850 (approx.) as per official records.

After the Golden Jubilee a core-committee was constituted in the year 2000. The core-committee is looking after the works of the alumni association. Every year passed out students of Assam Engineering Institute are enrolled their names at the association and the core-committee are also communicated with the ex-students working in various fields. Since then the increased number of members become 1500 (approx.).
